Going towards the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Palilula Municipality was held a press conference. President Boban Džunić, in the presence of Jasmina Barac Perovic, president of Nis Association of students with disabilities and organizations "FROM THE CIRCLE" Niš for women OSI and Mr. Jordan Ivanovic, editor of the Guide and coordinator of the Department of Social Protection, spoke about the activities that in the previous year significantly enhance and improve the situation of persons with disabilities in Palilula, on the possibilities of raising the awareness of society about this population, social protection strategy, cooperation and the creation of partnerships, best practices, awareness of citizens. "We have clear guidelines for the development of our community united in the Strategic Development Plan-Action program. We are active in solving problems of all population groups, especially of vulnerable groups in which are also people with disabilities, said president Džunić.

"You are aware that despite the limited powers, with modest budgets, our management of the Municipality works and has adopted high standards in providing services to our citizens. We have removed the barriers, we have an entry ramp to our building. We organize daily transportation of persons with disabilities in the municipality in collaboration with original associations.

In this municipality, in order to raise awareness about creating the conditions for improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, were organized discussions, debates, and they all show and solve problems. Palilula Municipality was one of the organizers of conversation-round table at national level on defining new goals of sustainable development in Serbia, where the situation of people with disabilities is also taken in account. According to the president, in these activities substantially place has the cooperation with educational institutions, School ` 14 Oktobar` and special school and boarding school "Bubanj", civil society organizations.

On this occasion, was also promoted and the fifth-sixth edition of the Guide-Let us remove barriers, for 2015, the rights and subsidies for people with disabilities. The double issue GUIDE, edited by Mr. Jordan Ivanovic, coordinator of the Department of Social Protection, are the following areas: Etiquette in communication with persons with disabilities, the system of pension and disability insurance, employment and labor relations, the Law on Vocational Rehabilitation, a new Regulation on technical standards accessibility, Regulations on medical-technical appliances can be funded by the compulsory health insurance, the new Ordinance on the categories of persons with disabilities that they can use the specially marked parking places for vehicles of persons with disabilities in public parking lots, Decision on amending decision on fixing the price of transport services in urban and suburban public passenger transport in the City of Nis, other subsidies for people with disabilities, Social Protection Strategy, the activities of urban municipalities in this area, social and humanitarian associations work to help people with disabilities and address the important institutions and establishments in the City of Nis and the Republic of Serbia.

The United Nations this year celebrate December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities under the slogan: "Sustainable development - Promise of Technologies". Concluding of the period of the Millennium Development Goals in September this year was launched a new development framework of sustainable development, which provides an opportunity to further raise awareness of disability as an issue that permeates all areas of development. City Municipality Palilula-Nis is one of the municipalities in the region which has clear guidelines for development. The management of Palilula is decisive in implementing the all this and has a high level of objectivity and humanity in solving problems of all population categories.
